How to shop

The Ōtūmoetai social supermarket is accessible to the 45,000 residents of the wider Ōtūmoetai  area (see the map) when they are facing a time of financial hardship. Shopping at the social supermarket can enable finances to be redirected for a short period of time to help meet the financial need.

Shoppers are allocated a set number of points based on whanau size and make financial contribution of approximately 20% of the shop value.

Access is by referral from one of our approved referral agents.

Many local organisations are referral agencies (schools, preschools, marae, medical centres, plunkets). If you have a natural connection with one of these organisations please approach them first. This is the best method as you know them and encourages our local community to support our people.

If there is no local connection HeretoHelpU are able to refer. Please contact them by clicking the link below
