Matua Whangai
* Respite care at Waikura House or Matua Whangai homes for home-based support service referrals.
* Placements are for tamariki 0 - 16 years.
* Whanau are encouraged to attend programmes which support a positive home environment.
* Matua Whangai/caregiver training offered.
CYFS Referral Process
Step 1 - The CYFS social worker contacts our Whanau worker.
Step 2 - They discuss the presenting circumstances, everything about the child is important. From these intital discussions an appointment is made and they bring the child and possibly a family member to meet us.
Step 3 - The social worker brings along important and updated information before the placement is accepted into our family home.
